  • He's wrong! In most cases having a child through rape will be a constant reminder of something unbelievably traumatic! There are so many reasons to have a termination. Different circumstances in each case.

In cases of rape, it is the choice of the lady and hers alone. It may not be an easy choice, but nobody should try and persuade her either way. Impartial advice is fine.

  • I don't think that he should be so arrogant that he thinks he understands a woman's motives behind her abortion, and he should be more sympathetic of the distress that she's going through.

  • Didn't read the article, but the title, speaks for itself. Classic catholic point of view, I'm not surprised.

  • It's not the baby's fault.

  • It makes sense from one point of view. In modern legal principle we don't penalize children for the crimes of their parents. From another point of view, a more atavistic one it is letting a criminal get away with his crime.

It's an interesting problem because most of the people who see nothing wrong with abortion are repelled by the genetic argument for not letting a rapist 'win'. It comes close to eugenics.
