spiritually speaking, after their death, who pays for their sins? Their children, grand children? Who?
What happens.. To the horrible things they have committed.. Is there no punishment for them? Are they freed?

Their children , maybe their grandchildren may suffer from the bad choices, crimes, wrongdoings of parents and grand parents. 'Sin' is a religious concept. That's out of scope, save for believers.
Some would still want Jews to suffer for the crucifixion by the Romans.
I never encountered someone who would still want Romans or Italians to suffer for the crucifixion by the Romans.

Definitely the future generations. Look at the Kennedy family. They've got to be under some kind of curse. All the males die so early0
