How long should I wait to get back in shape before going to a competition?

So im a dancer and I've taken a long break from dance. I haven't danced since late June. Im just starting to practice again and im extremely out of shape, i can't even get through all my steps without running out of energy and stopping.
For competitions, you have to sign up at least a month before because they have a deadline date and they tend to fill up quickly. So if i signed up for a competiton right now and had a month to practice, would that be enough time to get back in shape to the point where i can do my steps with lots of energy easily? Or would it not be worth it to sign up because i wouldn't be ready
