4-H baking contest tips/tricks?

So... I have a 4-h project coming up. It's a baking contest. My group has to make cookies, they will be judged based on taste texture and look. Anyone have any tips/tricks to winning. I'm thinking about making gluten-free oatmeal Rasin cookies. Please help :)

  • Only do gluten-free if the end result is effectively pushing those "taste, texture and look" buttons. :)

    I would suggest picking a cookie recipe from America's Test Kitchen, then making some modifications so that the end product is truly your own, but is also still top quality. Pick one you can make without having to acquire any difficult ingredients or any new equipment. :)
