How do you say this in Mandarin?

I want to order beef stew with rice. The places I want to order from has Asian staff members. I don't want to be rude by ordering in English. How would I order it? Thank you

  • Beef stew with rice:
    Nyo-ro tang, gun phan.

I wrote it how you would literally pronounce it, so literally read that and you got yourself an order. And if you want a challenge:

Can I have beef stew with rice:
Wo ku boo ku ee dien ee guh nyo-ro tang, gun phan, ma?

    • I'm Asian myself so they look down on me.

    • But ordering it in Mandarin, with it's 300 dialects, is not going to go well for you. Better to be looked down upon and get what you ordered.

  • Just because they are Asian... doesn't mean they speak Mandarin, does it?

  • You should say you are Korean, so they won't think you are being rude, because they won't expect you to know Mandarin.
