Aren't white people the real "COLORED" people?

"When I born, I black.

When I grow up, I black.

When I go in sun, I black.

When I scared, I black.

When I sick, I black.

And when I die, I still black.

And you white people.

When you born, you pink.

When you grow up, you white.

When you go in sun, you red.

When you cold, you blue.

When you scared, you yellow.

When you sick, you green

And when you die, you grey…

And you calling me colored?"

  • I remember reading this poem for the first time.
    I was blown away.
    It's so true.

Now I've heard it so many times, it has lost it's affect.
    But it's still fantastic!
It's true they are "colored" in a sense :)

    • That poem was in an era where blacks were heavily discriminated against. It was a big eye opener to what "colored" should really mean.

What Guys Said 2

  • The better question is "Who cares?". Black people aren't actually black and white people aren't actually white.

    • This poem was made LONG ago! You know, when blacks weren't allowed to learn literature :)

    • @ayeitsjanay Well there was no author on the bottom so I did not know that. She should have made clear it was not her own work. That's called plagiarizing.

  • Dear god where are you quoting this from, who ever it is can not write properly at all...
