Just wondering, because I think the iphone has 5gb used up when you get it already. So would 600 songs, 1000 photos and more than 20 apps be fine?

Yeah, a song is normally 10 MB and a picture is around 500 KB to 1 MB. 32 GB is 32000 MB so you could fit 600 songs and 1000 pictures with about 25.25 GB for apps which take about 100 MB. This means you could have 23.25 GB left over if you install 20 apps. (Realize that games take up a lot more space than apps) Also, the operating system of the phone usually take up about 2 GB of space (which they aren't required to tell people in ads cuz they're dicks.0

You should be OK as long as the music is in MP3 or AAC format and the movies aren't HD.
I have 1539 music tracks right now and they take up 42.09 GB in lossless format on my laptop that is reduced to 17.34 GB in 256Kbps AAC on the phone. I also have 8 hours of movies in DVD quality MP4 format that take up 6.79 GB. I also have 67 apps that take up 10.17 GB. That is 38.55 GB in total.
You also need to remember that you cannot use all that 32 GB. My phone as a quoted space of 64 GB but only 55.41 is usable.0
