What's the best DSLR camera for Around $500? Ideally around $300 though?

I'm looking for a good camera... ideally touch and has a good zoom, allows editing on the camera (quite a common feature in new camera's now).

Really good quality pictures.

  • I was going to propose the Nikon D3300. My son has one, but it's heavy and in that price range, expect shutter lag.

I'm hesitating myself between an Olympus Stylus s1 or EM D10 mkII

    • My problem with the Stylus is it's fixed f2.8 aperture : a guarantee for poor depth of field.
But it's battery life is better than the EM10 (but that one only opens up to f3.5, meaning high ISO and noise or slow shutter speeds.)

    • Look it up but I think Olympus comes with a twisting screen.
