What smells remind you of your childhood?

For me it's freshly cut grass and campfire smell.

  • The musty, earthiness of the lake on a cool summer morning, the smell of chicken noodle soup bubbling on the stove, and Old Spice (because that is what my dad wore).

    • I love the smell of petrol. It's one of those weird smells that I love.

    • Def. Love.

Petroleum smell is bae in general. I drive IH-20 through Midland and Odessa, Texas, about once a month, and oh sweet Lord how I love the smell of those Permian Basin oilfields. (That's the area that inspired "Friday Night Lights")

    • Oh I can smell it just thinking about it.

  • There's this chemical makeup smell that reminds me of my childhood. Don't know why though, I only played with the makeup a couple times.
Everynow and then the smell of campfires will take me back, but not as much as you'd expect considering I went camping at least once a year.

  • The smell of two-stroke engines and steam trains.

My brother used to race karts and I did a bit of it too. I wasn't quite as fast as he was but we loved seeing some of the men's faces when they discovered a girl had beaten them.

My dad was heavily into stream trains And as a young child they fascinated me too. Strangely when I got older I didn't loose the interest and I still have a huge love for them.

  • The smell of the chimneys from my village's houses at night. The burning fire and smoke that comes out of them. While im taking a bath i open the window and take a deep breath from the nose. its the only time i can catch clearly a scent. So if it smells like the chimneys.. I spaceshift to the past
