Read articles. Can you guys describe an experience where you looked or improved your image and became much more attractive. Your ex's reaction etc. And guys, how would you feel about this? Especially if new girl isn't attractive?

I mean, you should kinda operate like this in general. Walk through life like a runway model. Just treat life like one big runway.
I mean, think of how that actually works, at a fashion show, if YOU are on the runway.

And, don't focus on the bullshit. Focus on what you learned from that relationship, about what to do and not to do in a relationship. And what you learned about YOU.

If you learned weak spots of yourself... face up to them, DON'T deny them, and work on them.

You undoubtedly know yourself better now than before that relationship. You know what you value and what you don't, and what you can put up with and what you can't. Take the positive. That's hard-won knowledge.

You should use EVERY relationship -- even the shitty ones -- to learn ways YOU can become a better woman.

As far as running into the dude later on -- This is where looking hot is going to be most important.
I won't lie, it's pretty awesome to be able to show up everyone else in the room in general, regardless of the whole relationship situation. I don't have any bitter ex-boyfriend situations, so there's no exact analogy to yr situation. But, from looking at me, people tend to make a lot of incorrect assumptions about me and my husband -- and it does, indeed, give me a lot of smug inner satisfaction to gloat at how wrong they are. ("Yeah that's right, bitches, I'm his FIRST wife. First last and only.")

I mean, don't get me wrong, you'll have to work on your inner self, too. But, obviously, what's on the outside DOES count, and it counts quite a lot, and you should definitely ignore the people who say that it doesn't, because they are dangerously ignorant and will be very unhappy someday.

And yes in general I like to show up everyone in the room, but it is also nice in an ex boyfriend situation. Currently, I am dating and getting to know a guy, but i feel as if break up is kind of impeding me from getting closer to this guy. It just feels weird because you find yourself involuntarily comparing and feeling weird about it. I was planning on taking this guy to an event i know my ex will be at.

well, ok, full disclosure: in one sense, I'm the worst person to talk to you about this, because I'm basically incapable of harboring these kinds of feelings. Like, literally CANNOT hold grudges or spite. It just isn't in me. Other people can forgive and forget, I'm more like "forget and forget". Lol.

But, that said, I think you are going about this all wrong -- I think you are still way too focused on the boys, here, and not focused enough on yourself. Basically, I think you need to be a little bit more vain and self-centered, here.

happen anyway (no one randomly turns into that). But, if you are OVERLY concerned with them, and not enough with you, then you should re-adjust those priorities a bit.

This is a hard thing for a lot of younger people. I think *most* people under age 30 or so are off that balance on one side or the other -- either too wrapped up in themselves, or else too wrapped up in others. It takes a while to hit the right balance, tbh.

In a sense, if you are on the "not selfish enough" side of that issue, it's probably harder, because there are a lot of voices out there yelling about how wrong it is to put yourself first, and to be vain, etc.
But, you DO have to do that, to a certain extent. You just can't do so much of it that you exclude everyone else from yr life.

Look out for the ones you love -- just make sure "the ones you love" includes YOU.
