Actually, your brain can mimic the effects of alcohol without drinking.
Let's make a hypothetical situation.
Jimmy was 18 years old. He did not know the taste of alcohol and could not detect it if he was to drink it. With that in mind, his older brother Rufus gave him a mysterious liquid and told him "drink it." Jimmy, being naive and gullible, drank it. He did not recognize the taste. Rufus told him it was a highly alcohol beverage (but in actuality it was just root beer).
Jimmy then thought to himself "Oh wow, I just drank a lot of alcohol. I could be drunk. Am I drunk? What do drunk people do? They speak their mind, are happy, and get lightheaded. Yeah sure! Do I feel that way? Oh man, I think I do." The self doubt leads to his mind actually forcing the feeling on him.
From that, he will now act however he thinks a drunk person acts because he thinks he is drunk. The physical changes won't occur, but the mental stuff will. It will eventually wear off in time.
There have been studies and experiments that have done this and prove the phenomenon. Go ahead-- trick all your gullible friends and stuff. It's harmless but it can be interesting to see what people act like haha.2
