    • Actually to me it's exciting, that how you people speak with lots of air in mouth and a slight nasal twang in it. It sounds good, at least to me.

    • Lol, 😂 It was a raw explanation. Of course it's different when you practically speak.

    • Yes, in my nasally voice. ;P

  • Cree, but I'm not even fluent anymore. It was my first language, but then I was put into a french daycare and we moved a city where everyone spoke English, so I ended up just losing my first language. I can still understand it, but I can't speak it.

    • Didn't you care to speak it with your parent?

    • Show All
    • Ok. I thought there might have been a pattern of communication involved like other families, where the first child speaks and understands their inherited language, while the second child understands it but can't speak it and the third child has no knowledge of it.

    • @Homebakedcookies No, it's just the circumstance in which we were raised. My brother speaks Algonquin very well (we're half Cree, half Algonquin), but he went to school on the reservation where they have Algonquin classes. I went to school in a city that focused on French and English.
