Sorry not sure where else to ask but can anyone tell me what kind of snake this is? My aunt found it. We live in Kentucky

  • Well I would say either a water moccasin or a rat snake. The first is dangerous the second is not. The only way I would be able to tell them apart is the mouth, a water moccasins mouth is white on the inside, the rat/corn snake is not. But as with most things, when in doubt assume its dangerous and keep away from it.

    Often mistaken for rattlers because of their coloration, but they're really nice snakes.

  • Pretty sure that's a corn snake. It's markings fit.
    It's non poisonous, a constrictor.. still bites though.
