Mother of course. Why? Ok listen
#1. She has a history.
#2. There are a lot of chances that she might be doing a lot of things like an occupation, voluntarism or at least she must be the one feeding her husband in her house.
#3. She spent a lot of time with her parents and especially her SO and hence, have a lot of memories.
It would CERTAINLY hurt wayyyy more losing her than a child who has barely spent a few months (inside the womb) and a few hours (maybe minutes?) in real world. The parents are probably not that much attracted to him/her as compared to each other.
Sure, no denying it shatters the heart when you lose your child but losing the mother would be so vandalizing to a family. The child will miss a mother in his/her life too. And you can always try having another child. My best friend who is the only child of his parents is actually the second child. They had similar situation. They are living happily.2
