Say it out loud to hear yourself say it.
The correct English (as in British) pronunciation is Onvelope, it is derived from the french word meaning the same. The Americans have their own unique way of pronouncing many English words.

What is the correct pronunciation of envelope?
There seems to be some confusion about the correct pronunciation of envelope. Is it EN-vuh-lohp or ON-vuh-lohp?
The answer may surprise you! The correct pronunciation is actually ON-vuh-lohp.
The word comes from the French word enveloppe, which is pronounced ON-vuh-lohp. The French word comes from the Latin word involvere, which also has a pronunciation of ON-vuh-lohp.
So there you have it! The next time you need to pronounce envelope, remember to say ON-vuh-lohp.

I heard lotsa people say option B but i say "In-va-lope"
It's weird, I have pronounced it both ways, with no reasoning behind saying it one way or the other.
last time i checked, i didn't see the letters "ON" in the beginning of that word... lol i say ENvelope
The way it's spelled I guess because I'm from the US
On-ve-lope
i pronounce it the french way.En-ve-lope because it 'envelops' the letter
