Um, yes, so I can whip his ass (figuratively).
So if an abusive man dumped me without any empathy, and the mum believes he's still just a sweet person, then I should be confident in telling her how the relationship really was? She was actually quite upset when her son told her that he was breaking up with me, from what I was told. She definitely loved me and welcomed me into the family.
Yes I think you should tell her what happened, even at the risk of causing more trouble, but you need to do it in such a way that it doesn't look like you're seeking revenge, instead like you're letting her know how her son behaved --which should be the real reason why you're going to her.
Yes, that's the reason why I want to tell her. Not for revenge, but just to name her aware that her son is not the sweet person she thinks he is. I don't know how to do it though.
Yeah, good on you. I think maybe call her about catching up for a coffee or something, tell her it's about something serious but try not to get her worked up, and then when you're sitting down and have made a little small talk, then you tell her. I don't know, that's how I would do it, what do you think?
Yeah, I agree. She has offered to catch up whenever I would like to see her, because she thinks I'm a nice person and is happy to stay in contact. How do I tell her though, what do I say?
That's good!I honestly am a little stuck on this, but I'd start off by saying a little disclaimer, that this isn't about revenge, but so she can know what's going on and to be 100% transparent.Just tell her the story of when the abuse started, from the beginning, I guess.
Ok. It's quite tricky
Agreed :/ best of luck!
Thanks for mhg :)
You're welcome 😊
Have an opinion?
If my son was abusive I wouldn't care if I liked the girl or not. I'd still be pissed at him
So you wouldn't be offended by her telling you how he behaved?
" I wouldn't care if I liked the girl or not. I'd still be pissed at him"
