Two of my brothers and I followed the 1992 Lollapalooza tour for almost a whole month -- giant road trip, with all 3 of us sleeping in a small-ish car. (That wasn't the best-smelling car after a while... you win some, you lose some.)
The full line-up is here. At least 10 of these acts will DEFINITELY end up in the rock 'n' roll hall of fame... if not more. Having them all in the same place, at the same time, was beyond words.
The Soundgarden sets were my favorite.
No exaggeration to say that Chris Cornell's voice was at least partly responsible for the fact that I'm still *alive* right now... All that raw emotion in his voice did a LOT to help me through some pretty awful teenage manic-depressive episodes.
Pearl Jam was amazing, too -- this was back when they were pure rock 'n' roll and raw emotion, and before they got all weird and political and started singing all their songs about the Bush administration.
... And Ministry, singing Jesus Built My Hotrod (remember, my brothers and I built hotrods ourselves)...
... And Ice Cube, who was from a couple miles down the street in Compton...
... and Rage Against the Machine, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and and and and... ahhhh best tour ever.2

Party crashing in a tiny church in Rome (It) A known opera singer came to sing Schubert's Ave Maria for a private mass for an old noble family (many popes bore that name 500 years ago). When visitors were asked to leave before the mass we hid behind a pillar and waited.
