Just to be picky...
Are they full sisters or do half sisters count? If only full sisters count, Mr Smith could have a son and a daughter with five different women. So Smith would have five daughters, but each son would have only one full sister.
Also, be careful with the wording. If you say "a" sister, that means at least one. They could have a hundred sisters and it would still be true that they have a sister.
For that matter, Mr Smith could have twenty sons, and it would still be true that he has five sons.
