Should my dentist remove the plaque from my tongue web piercing?

should my dentist remove the plaque from my tongue web piercing? I have plaque build up on my tongue web piercing and I don't know how to take it out or reinsert it and there is no piercer where I live (I got it done in a different country) so how do i clean plaque off from the barbell and ball or can a dentist do it for me or even help me put in a new jewlery which i have

i wanted to know if its something they will know how to reinsert with a new jewlery if they couldnt take off the plaque on the current one i have
