piercings are awesome! and they're a way to express yourself... i think body modification is just art. nothing negative about it... that sounds really ignorant to say that body modifications are linked to mental disorder...
oh wait.. maybe the ones who think that way are the ones who should get checked >:(

I believe some people who've been though trauma do it. not sure if that's why everybody does I though. some are just "trendys" others do I for other reasons.
ummmm no... I have my ears pierced, had my nose pierced, and have 2 tattoos and I am all good in the head
Anyone who believes this needs to get cancer immediately. ugh, humans. not the smartest bunch
I do think if it extreme.. and not just one to represents a life/special occasion there is something going on with that person.
Either it's a fetish they have, enjoy the pain, attention or just hate something about their own bodies so they sue tattoos to cover-up, distract the attention for other parts of thier body.
I'm going to go with 'yes' and 'no'.
Most of it is just fashion, but some people appear to get addicted to it. So for the majority, it's not, but for some (mainly the ones who end up covered or who have weird piercings that make other people wince), it's the sign of a bigger problem.

If you're from some Russian backwater with social views still congruent with Pope Urban II from the Clermont field, 1095.
Or live in some charred plantation in the US with no neighbours within a 5 mile radius.

Then the answer is a resounding yes!I'm not sure about mental disorder but I think there's definitely something emotional going on. Seeking attention or something. Depression?
I've heard people say "it's how they need to express themselves" which I'm not sure I buy. Seems like an odd way to do it to me but that's just me lol.Absolutely not as long it not extreme like piercings places that should not be pierced not below the belt and have tattoos all over them. If u ask me its like a fashion trend for their body that is permanent. I have never had a piercing or tattoo and probably never will but I find them pretty sexy on a girl.
90% of women with tattooes and piercings anywhere besides their ears happen to be sluts, its not even a secret every guy who sees a tattooed girl thinks to himself "easy prey " and girls know this and dont mind.
Most piercings and ALL tattoos are a huge turn off for me. I can't think, for the life of me, why people have them. What good are they?
I'm pretty normal, and I don't think ADHD made me consistently want a tattoo.
I've got plans for a shoulder tattoo of a nebula, and I've already got two ear piercingsSome women look really hot with tattoos.. there are plenty of stereotypes for people with tattoos. I would judge the person not the Ink. Just saying.
I think there is an element of, is this person ok when it comes to tattoos as they are technically a wound. People with mental problems also like to injure themselves. It could be a sign of mental issues but their are many who are totally fine.
I doubt it. I have 4 mental illnesses and don't have any tattoos or piercings
When they don't know when to stop, that's when they have a mental disorder.
I have a tribal tattoo, which I got when I turned 17 as part of a family tradition.
Having tattoos and/or piercings doesn't mean mental disorder.Anyone who has even a basic working knowledge of psychology knows that tattoos and piercings, especially on women, are a sign of mental illness.
I think trolling has far more legitimate grounds for being called a mental disorder.
Mental disorder? I don't think so. Piercings on the ears or nose are okay otherwise it's a huge turn off for me.
But are tattoos worth it? Worth the pain and hard work and money? Why and how?No... I am going to get tattoos in the future Most of my family of tattoos even my sister who is just a year older but she got a cross.
They women with blue hair are a sign of mental illness or a radical feminist.
It's often associated with sign of identity issues and wanting to stand out from the crowd.
I would argue getting one makes no indication of mental illness. It's a personal choice no matter how you look at it.
i wouldn't say mental disorder.. i mean, after all, women wear jewelry all the time, right?
