Also, what is wrong with just saying they're mixed race? Even if there were one acceptable term to use for a person with an Asian and Non-Asian parent.
Would it really clarify the person's race any better if you're using the same word to refer to person 1. who is Asian and mexican and person 2. who is Asian and African American (just 2 examples off the top of my head)
You might as well just say they're mixed because it's just as effective.

I'm not half Asian but I am mixed and have been referred to has a "Halfie" and "Half-cast" a few times and I can tell you this, I no longer speak to the people who used those terms while referring to me. It's generally considered offensive
I have also been called a "Hybrid" and "Little miss in between" and I don't care for either of those.
Not offended by the way, you asked, I'm answering honestly

This seems to have been asked along time ago but I am still adding my to cents.
I am half white and half Chinese and prefer the term halfie or mixed race. I will normally refer to myself as a 'halfie' and if asked how I identify, I would respond 'halfie'.
This has also been the case for all the other half-asians I have met with the exception of half japanese who use 'halfu'.
Of course, this is personal preference and there maybe others who dislike this term.idk I'm not mixed with asian, but it sounds like it would be offense. I don't think I would want to be called "halfie" or "happa". I mean they don't have weird nicknames for full race people so why make them for half asians? just call them mixed
um they`re called mixed race and do NOT like to be called half-casts or happa or halfie, that's rude and offensive.
