Definitely not a turn off! It shows you're interested in her and she'll appreciate it. Don't make her feel like you're worried about what she's doing when you're not around by asking too many questions. Just keep it simple..."How was school, work, your day, practice, nap, etc"

I don't think it's a turn off at all. If I like the guy, it shows he's interested and pretty much makes my day. If I don't like the guy, I don't answer and eventually he gets the idea. If you're curious about something or want to ask something, just go for it!
If it's a guy I LIKE then I like when guys ask me questions like "how was work?" or "how was ___?" I think it shows the guy is interested in you and your daily life. If it is someone I'm not interested in and I want nothing to do with, then it's annoying.

work, politics, religion are MAJOR turn-offs for me

i like that stuff BUT don't let the conversation go limp. there only needs to be one question to start an interesting conversation. I hate it when someone asks me a question and all they say is cool, OK, fun etc.
I think it's nice when a guy I'm talking to shows some interest in me it just depends on how long I've known you and how personal your questions are don't ask anything too personal too early or it can be a turn off
As long as its not any questions that are too "personal", it is fine. Actually I think its pretty good to start conversations and show you care by asking questions. My last boyfriend didn't talk much and so we broke up really fast... or stopped talking to each other. Try finding common interests and stuff because ill help for those awkward moments when no ones talking.
It's not a turn off, at least they care enough to ask.
If the questions are not too personal then I really don't mind unless we have been seeing each other for a bit then I don't mind if they are personal
