Sorry about your laptop...I broke mine recently as well and you truly don't realize how much you use it until it's gone.
The one possession though that I can't go without is my necklace. Last semester my friend needed money and she didn't have it at the time so I gave money to her and didn't ask for any back. Because she knew I wouldn't take her money she bought me a beautiful necklace and I've worn it everyday since.

Laptop would be a tough one to lose also, but for me it's my iPod. I had my purse stolen from work awhile back. Lost everything but my phone. Wallet, keys, my favorite sunglasses, all sorts of stuff. But the thing I missed the most was my iPod. It sucked not having it to listen to music, and it sucked to lose about 3,000 songs, many of which I couldn't easily get back, since they weren't on my computer anymore. Sad day.
If my laptop broke, I'd probably go on an angry rampage. The other day my iPod died on me and it took me 2 days to fix. I was in bitch mode w/o my music, I was lucky I had my PSP. :/
My head...not a lot of objects I can't live without. Items I find extremely useful and always have on my person: string, at least one knife, leatherman, electrical tape, lighter, diamond steel, pen and paper, and a magnesium and flint block. Usually my ipod, and depending on where I am, my wallet.
I sometimes forget my keys, wallet, and cell phone, but I never leave the house without my knife. It's my security blanket. Some people have a teddy, others have a blanket, I have a knife. It's on my belt from the time I get dressed in the morning till the time I get undressed and go to bed.

Probably my laptop, but that's because 90% of my schoolwork is done on it, so if it's not working, I'm not working, literally. lol. plus I use it to get on here and some other sites and stuff.
Sorry to hear bout your laptop but I'm the same way, I need my laptop, that's the one item I can't live without.
Sorry about the laptop :(
I can live with out my electronics but it isn't the greatest feeling. I can't live without food I guess haha. There is no object I can't live without. I've lost so many possessions over my lifetime that meant the world to me, yet I lived on.
Sometimes I think that if I were any lesser a man I would have dropped dead from a broken heart a long time ago...That would be my mobilee, I would say my laptop but I have a smartphone which can sometimes replace laptops.. I lovee my mobile and I CAN NOT live without it

I use to say my journal & pen, but I think my laptop is climbing up there.
Contacts.
Without them I'd probably walk into oncoming traffic.
:PMy phone. I am a total wreck when I'm stuck in traffic with a dead phone. Ugh.
My toothbrush. I am very anal about my teeth and my dental hygiene.
nothing I think.. I have lost everything and won't feel any needs. Just fresh air.
