Why do girls not like guys who do drugs?

Question

They're so quick to judge that I use adderall to study or that I occasionally smoke weed, but it's perfectly fine for them to get drunk and act slutty and stupid and vomit all over someone's carpet.

Okay maybe they don't get that drunk but they do get drunk and stupid and start crying about their emotions and that's okay? But taking adderall to study for school isn't? Or smoking a little weed and relaxing with some friends at home watching a movie?

Talk about horsesh*t. The majority of girls I've met have this mentality, only a few don't and they're usually the ones taking ecstasy at raves and doing drugs harder than I do.

So why all the hate for drug users? I'd say I'm pretty successful and go to a great school and am clean shaven and dress well but I do smoke weed and take adderall and I get some nasty looks and people look at me differently.

Most of the girl's answers anger me, and I could counter your points one by one but I wouldn't convince you of anything.

Just know that I think you're all wrong. You can be a responsible drug user, NOT become a drug addict, and still be professionally and personally successful.

Cannabis is technically not a drug. Cocaine was actually used in the first prototypes of a drink in 1915, that we now know as "Coca"-Cola(of course excluded as an ingredient now, but no wonder why it was so addictive). Cocaine is the ground up form of the coca leaves commonly grown in Colombia and northern Venezuela. Cocaine is more of a stimulant that increases hyperactivity and your senses and perception of things (I was given some in the pill form when I had broken my knuckles in a boxers fracture). Meth is usually made in labratories with common household ingredients and some sudafed(which you now need a prescription for since the meths drive in popularity). The drug is very combustable, so whoever thought smoking something made frome bleach and things like ammonia was flat out retarded. Meth is completely overboard, its more of a trip out and just go flat out insane drug. Heroine is a pain reliever that numbs pain almost instantly, it also decreases paranoia, but is extremely addictive. Medical heroine in controlled doses is call morphine. I know, sounds familiar right? Alchahol has been proven to ruin families or lives more than that of simple marijuana. The only reason its not completely legal in America is because the governtment still does not have a legitimate system of taxing it. The somewhat legalization in Colorado and Washington has some good progress, but you still don't see the other 48 states just jumping into it. The government does not care about our health or well-being, they only want their money. The only way to be charged of an actual federal crime is to be caught with fifteen grams or more. You don't see them doing that with cocain/meth/heroin (if you are found with a single speck of any of those you are already violating the law). Why? Because marijiana is not half as bad as people portray it to be. I do believe however, that its not the safest thing when operating machinery or any kind of automobile. It depend on the kind you smoke too, because indicas give you a good head high/dizzyness, whereas sativas give you that muscle realxer/couch lock effect. Either way they both screw with your mind when doing those things. A lot of people say that marijuana is a gateway drug, but its been proven that ciggarette smokers are 68% more likely to get addicted to harder drugs than a pot smoker. So, the government needs to work something out cause, if they're never gonna fully legalize "the tree" then they might as well do away with "the bottle" too.

It's because they don't understand drugs. That or they have the same mindset as middle-aged women which means they're terrified to do anything illegal. Perhaps they can't see passed the scummy underbelly of the drug world (Criminal Dealers). In any case,  I completely agree with you.

Me personally- I just don't like being around drugs or people who use them on a regular basis. The occassional joint won't bother me, I can accept that as kicking back the way some people drink. But if you're the kind of person who tends to do it on a daily or even weekly basis, I'm not likely to date you once I know it. It's a personal preference. To be fair, I agree that it's a bit of a double standard between drugs and alcohol, but I'm not likely to date a guy who gets falling down drunk on a regular basis either. A beer or two after work, getting tipsy at a party on the weekend, I'm cool with that. But if your habit is getting black out drunk every weekend- not interested.

Why- well, don't know exactly except that I've always thought you should have a certain measure of control and responsibility for yourself, which drinking/doing drugs definitely erodes to some extent. "I was so stoned/drunk" is not a excuse for anything in my opinion unless you're telling me why you feel like crap the next day, and really that's more of a cause than an excuse. Don't get me wrong, I drink and I don't look down on people who take it to excess or do drugs on a daily basis, but it's not what I choose to be around.

Because drugs = associated problems. As long as it's not abusive behavior and not hard drugs, (read: occasional weed usage) then it's case by case, really.

Overall, it's the idea of being with someone who is partaking in an illegal activity. You're now associated with everything that can go wrong.

Oh yeah, let's date some guy that if he's not careful will get arrested. Or if he comes across the wrong dealer, can get into some serious sh*t.

I'm mostly turned off by all the potential drama involved. Just because you're okay with illegal drug use doesn't mean everyone else is. You can't even compare it to drinking. Not excusing excessive drinking and the stupid behavior involved by some, but you just can't compare the two like that.

Though to be honest, if it were someone who drank every weekend and got drunk all the time, I would be turned off a little, too. People who rely on substance abuse that heavily to have "fun" make me wonder wtf is wrong with them. :/

My ex used to do a few drugs mostly weed pretty much every day or he couldn't "function", it was okay for the majority or our relationship but it got a bit old after a while because I didn't do it and a barrier built up between us. When he lost me he said he would quit for me, I don't know if he did but I ignore him him these days due to other events. Basically I felt second sometimes and seperated emotionally due to the drugs he took, because he would act different. I try not to judge people for their life choices though but I most likely wouldn't date someone like him again. I wouldn't date an alcoholic either or someone who feels the need to drink nearly every day. Just not attracted to self destructive  behavior , I need someone stable.

yeah, drug abuse indicates a major underlying problem.  The problem is so great, you'd be willing to do something illegal to get it.  Even if the thing illegal is the drug itself.  I have learned too much about biology and the effects of drug abuse to even find anyone who uses even a potential in my life.  And most of all, most addicts and users can never admit they have a problem.  They think they need it for this or that.  And if you always need a chemical crutch to live life, then what's the point?

lack of knowledge about the drugs is the reason why people in general look down upon people who use drugs.

Drugs if used SMARLTY and SAFELY can actually enhance your life.(eg:drugs like LSD)

plus people generally fall into a drug habit and there are countless amount of people who cannot give up their addiction.These people make their own life hell.Hence,everyone makes an assumption about you as a person solely based on you using a particular drug(even if it is occasionally).

My advice to you:

Don't discuss about them with people who don't know sh*t about it.since majority don't know sh*t about what they are doing.Infact a lot of users even don't know about the things they are doing.

If you know what you are doing and as long as you are using them safely & smartly,you are good.

I don't do drugs and I wouldn't want to date a druggie it always starts as using a drug for this purpose or that one. Drug addicts disgust me, if you do drugs you of course have a higher chance of becoming one so I'm uninterested.

im OK w pot if he's productive and uses it to releave stress but if he can't go a day w out it then its a no go.

because I already have too many bad habits. don't need to add illegal drug use to that list. also, half the people who use adderall don't really have ADD/ADHD. they just think they're above using coffee and red bull like the rest of us.

I wouldn't mind at all if it's just a casual thing you do to chill with friends etc. but if you needed it or were addicted I wouldn't like it, it's just depressing to think about because sh*t like that starts to consume your life.
