Social networking I don't care about. But in public I will move closer to her, stand more in between her and the guy she's talking to or simply wrap my arm around her a little. Basically were saying fuk off.
On a social networking site? I wouldn't bother.
In person, I'd rely on body language. An arm on her shoulder, type of thing. Or when I'm moving away (to get drinks or whatever) just a "Back in a minute" and peck on the lips. That sort of thing.
