How does your nose not look African American? I've seen a variety of nose shapes on all people, or African Americans specifically.
I can't picture your nose from what your described. picture?
People think I'm mixed all the time (I'm not, at least not in terms of different races of parents, grandparents, etc. ) and my nose isn't atypical for an African American, imo. I had an African friend tell me that I didn't have the "flat nose" that is often seen in west Africans. I don't know and I don't really care. I guess I have straight (not crooked or bumpy) prominent (not extremely prominent or out there) bridge, which means the bridge isn't sunken in (like my Asian friend) or flat (like west Africans are thought to have, I guess), and a rounded tip, and normal, round nostrils, slightly wide but not really. I always say my nose is big, because it is. but I guess overall compared to all the variety of noses in the world, it may be medium-medium large. who the f*** knows lol I'm cute and my nose looks good on me. that's what matters.
I have black friends with a variety of noses. narrow, small, big, flat, wide, sunken bridges, flat bridges, bird noses, etc. I think you're assuming your nose can be traced back exactly to one specific ethnicity or origin in your background, and that's not entirely logical considering that genetics pay no attention to those. sometimes your features mirror commonalities in one specific group throughout the many years of your background, sometimes they mutate and create something totally different, and sometimes specific features are a a different, blended combination of all in your background.

you probably have a racially hybrid nose that has traits of all the ethnicities you're mixed with
Round tip comes from the black side
Tiny nostrils comes from white side
Big bridge comes from the NA side
African American is a hybrid ethnic group anyway.we're not totally African

But I will say that this type of nose isn't uncommon among African Americans.
Most AA are "homogenized". Some facts.
The "Civilized Indian Tribes" (CCCCS) owned slaves to fit in to Anglo culture but treated them as individuals from other tribes as opposed to farm animals. Many were herders and understood toe virtue of sweetening the gene pool. Any child of those unions were simply more Indians. These peoples often had aquiline noses and some have even hypothesized an Atlantic origin for them as opposed to the Asian land bridge.
The Southern planters frequently used slave women as concubines both for pleasures not obtainable from wives due cultural inhibitions and also to produce mixed breeds for use as house servants who were more eye-appealing to residents, guests and as future pleasure women for the planters (can you say: Halle Berry?). Southern Planters were most often of Scottish and French ancestry; both of which frequently had aquiline noses.
Your particular gene soup? I haven't a guess.
I'm Puerto Rican and Black and I have naturally arched looking eye brows, dark skinned compared to most Hispanics and fair skin compared to dark skinned Blacks, my eyes are hazel and my hair is curly, so my facial features are all over the place, so I can relate to how you feel. In all honesty it doesn't matter, because at the end of the day we are who we are!

Stop worrying over stupid things.
Worrying if your nose is "black" enough is extraordinarily stupid.
