First time at a tanning salon ... do you go nude?

i'm heading to cuba in February, and I'd like to hit up the tanning salon a couple times before I leave to get a bit of a base tan so I don't burn as soon as I get to cuba

but, I've never been to a tanning salon

what do you wear in the tanning bed? bikini? birthday suit?

also, any tips from people who have tanned before would be nice

when you go, how do you decide how long / intense to do it?

does the girl at the front help you figure that out?

I just went today for the first time wooop :)) I enjoyed it a lot, relly relaxing imo. I wore just a thong. I guess I could just as well go naked, but I want to see that I've become tanner and that's easier to do when you have untanned skin to compare it to :) otherwise, you'll smell weird after, my friend says it smells kinda like popcorn, but I think you just smell weird, so if you want to go somewhere afterward I'd take some strong deo and perfume or something like that. Also I'd take some very hydrating body and face lotion because your skin will be very dry after, especially in your face. At least that's what happenes to me... Yeah that's all the tips I have :))

I'm sure the people that work there can tell you how long depending on the shade you want. People go in there naked to make the tan look as real as possible but I'm sure its plaqued with germs so wear a bikini or strapless bra so you won't have lines on your shoulders.

Start with 8 minutes the first time. Then wait 2 days. Go another 8 minutes. Wait 2 days. Go for 10 minutes then. Use tanning lotion.

can you buy it elsewhere for cheaper?

Yes the lotion there is the best.. More expensive though. But they usually sell samples for around 3$. Its good for one tanning session.

This is unrelated, and I know it may get deleted by the mods, but how were you able to get permission to travel to Cuba? With the travel embargo and all? Just curious.

Here's my 2 cents on the tanning beds: Start out really slow. Don't get burned by one of those things before you expose yourself to the Caribbean sun.

I went tanning before going on vacation so that I didn't burn and I went in a swimsuit. My sister on the other hand went nude and complained about being burned the entire trip. If I were you I'd wear a bikini so your lady parts don't become uncomfortable.

Yes, you need to go for a short time to build up a base tan so you don't burn. Use lotion too. I'd go every other day. If you want to go nude you can it's completely up to you.

I always wore panties but no bra. Basically you could wear your bottoms of whatever you are gonna wear so your tan lines will line up.
