I have wavy hair. Its a tremendous pain in the ass. I've idly considered having it straightened.
I'm not familiar with great clips, but I'm not aware of any chain that is really good. If you're looking at permanent hair treatment, I would not go cheap.
As for whether its weird, who knows? I suspect more guys do stuff to their hair then people realize, they just don't talk about it. Your hair isn't dead straight, I honestly think most people wouldn't even know. They'd say 'oh its wavier' and you could just say 'yeah, it has some natural wave when long and I'm like ... working with it now'. People would believe it.
Its your hair, do what makes you like it. If its done well, people will rapidly just think of that as 'how your hair is'
If ya get a hair doo, people will expect ya to start havin homer sex.
I'm skeptical of perms because if you have any wave to your hair, you may end up with super tight curls when you just wanted a body perm. Plus, everyone has a natural whorl (?) that determines which way you should part it. You can try parting it in slightly different ways while it's wet to adjust cowlicks and what have you.
SO, do research on it, but first please try growing your hair longer, using a shampoo that really cleans your hair for good body, and using product like sea salt spray (Lush USA makes one that looks good) to give it wave and body.
Worst case scenario: you'll get the curl level you didn't want, your hair might get fried if the perm solution is left on too long, and/or it will damage your roots. Not good.
If your wanting it like mick or morrision then you will deff want the perm. Nowadays people may think it odd but if your going for that 70-80s look that's exactly what the men used to do morrison had a perm actually lol. but if your hair is still short ish as in your pic wait till its well past the shoulders for the perm or you will look like an old lady ha ha just because a wave will shorten the hair strand shorter than the length it is by about 3 inches. P.S regardless of the conformists these days I think morrision aand jagger had hot f***in hair!

dont go to any place with 'cuts' or 'clips' in the name if you have long hair and want it to look decent.
not to crush your dreams but give up on trying to look like either of them. people liked them because of their 'auro' & 'music abilities'. they could have been bald & people would have liked them. go to a hair stylist (salon) to get your hair styled & cut to look good.

It's not attractive when guys do things to their hair. Don't dye or perm it, or anything like that. That would be awful. All guys should go natural.

I've always had a thing for guys with wavy hair. Just don't get tight curls, do something loose. You could even have your stylist curl it, to show you what it will look like. And yes, grow it out longer first.
