What does it mean when a guy double texts

i texted this guy who I am sort of seeing yesterday and he didn't respond for 4 hours when before he never took more than 20 min so I so I didn't respond to his response since he didn't really give me anything to go off anyway,but then he double texted half an hour later. why? it seemed like he was ignoring my text earlier but now he seems like he wants me to reply.mixed signals?

Just because he didn't reply for 4 hours, doesn't mean he's ignoring you. And a double text could mean a few things.. He's impatient and was waiting for your reply or he had to add something to the conversation. It depends on what his second text said. Don't read too much into it. It's just a text.

If he added something to the conversation, maybe he's saying something he forgot.

But if he double texts asking "are you there" , "are you there", then he's desperate and sitting by his phone all day waiting for you to reply.
