Since I am an ebony princess, with a big afro...
I prefer my hair to not be burdened down with harsh chemicals like lye which is harmful to my body.
I prefer my hair to not be burdened with having to flat iron it into submission.
I prefer my hair to not be held down by all sorts of harsh styling products that stunts its growth.
I prefer my hair to not be burdened with having to "blow out" my many curls.
I prefer my hair to be happy, healthy and free...a reflection of ME.
Miss Mary,
An anonymous user here said it BEST.This site mainly has white users. This world in general, the media, most things celebrate light skin and straight hair. So,most of the answers you will receive here will be discouraging concerning wearing your own natural hair. Its the constant brainwashing people have received, and its sadly difficult for black women to accept what NATURALLY comes from their own scalps. How sad is that.So we resort to trying to figure out how to be "more" attractive supposedly to the opposite sex by conforming.
Self love is important for sure. But it took me basically having all of my hair fall out from chemical processing and other damaging hair traumas for me to ask myself,"What and who am I doing all of this for?" Do I want to be bald for life just because I think that straightening my hair is the "right" thing to do?Am I right in thinking my hair is...bad?NO.NO.NO.
Don't worry or focus on what you think guys will want...its what YOU want. And on a side note,I can't tell you how much praise is received when a black woman wears her hair in its natural state...you know why?Because our hair is so unique and beautiful. And you know what I hear ALL day? "Man,I wish I could get MY hair like that."And that statement is usually coming from those with...STRAIGHT HAIR.
Good luck girly.

i prefer the natural look. the big curly hair. the big funky fro. that stuff.
but, I also like sleek straight hair. so...it just depends on the black girls features.
since I'm technically black, I prefer sleek black straight hair on me, although I wear.clip ins and I'm natural.
I know some black girls from university and they let it natural... It's very prettyl! It's a shame I don't see a lot...
mine is naturally straight so when I see a girl with afro or amazing curls I love it, it's different and it's beautiful.
I like the curly look like this link and link .
When they also pull this hairstyle back, I think it also looks great.
I don't have a single curl on my head, so I can't have a lot of hairstyles like black people can. My hair just doesn't keep any style I give it, it sucks.
That's why I have always had it one style since I can remember short like this. link I don't look like this guy, just the hairstyle.
I don't like afro hair on any girl, even if she is black. I prefer long hair in any girl and it's really difficult to find a black girl with short hair. I like it very long and I like braided hair on black girls:

You should go natural. Do whatever YOU like. It shouldn't matter at all what other people think, it's your hair.
Ultimately, if the guy likes you anyway, he'll like whatever hairstyle you have. Just be yourself and you can't go wrong:)I like anything except an afro pretty much. Curly, straight, dreds, whatever. I'm happy just as long as it ain't nappy. (By the way, my wife is black)
Straightened looks best
Most guys prefer straight hair and dislike curly hair, let alone liking kinky/nappy black hairMy boyfriend likes natural hair, but Its my hair so I'll wear it how I want
I'm a ponytail/bonbon kinda girl. I hate weave and I've never had an Afro except for like when I blow dry my hair after a wash lol
I have dreadlocks down my back and that's how I will wear it until I decide to commit to something else
Afro, dreads, straight... not really into weaves etc. Prefer natural
Dont change for a man trust me, in the end its not worth the struggle
Doesn't matter much to me. I like a fairly wide variety. I just don't like the short hairstyles. Too many women have a Halle Berry style. It's terrible.
No, I don't like afros. I like hair styles that make it easy to pull.
Straight, long, or with curls yes, but an Afro no!
I prefer a long straight hair on her.
Straight is always sexy. But afros can be cute.
natural... either way I know she'll look beautiful
preferably natural
straight
