When I first started shaving my mom told me not to go above the knee either, but I had dark hair and it was really noticeable, so I had begged my mom to let me shave above the knee and she let me. Honestly, it's a lot of work. I'd say if your hair isn't noticeable/thick/prickly, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. As for guys, I don't see why they should have a problem with it. There's always a double standard, girls are supposed to be body hair free while guys are allowed to have hairy jungles. If it really bothers you, then go ahead and shave it, but if it's not a problem I'd leave it as is.

i've got really thin and practicly invisble hairs from knees up, so I'm also interesed is that also a huge turn off for guys?
and I have noticed the more I depilate them, they are thicker and darker so I'm kinde of not really motivated to shave my legs from knees up...
but TL;DR, no ii don't xD
I've got really long legs, so I tend to only shave below the knee. But if I'm off out (e.g Swimming, beach, social gathering), wearing a short summer skirt/dress or even shorts or if I'm bringing someone home I will shave the whole leg.
I prefer smooth hairless legs on women although f you have very light hair and it's not obtrusive that's OK too. Check out women's magazines. They're all shaved.
I love the way a woman's thighs are shaped and so long as they're not hidden I'll love them- even if they're hirsute.
I like it. The higher up the better! However it is a personal choice only you and your boyfriend should make. I like shaved legs and a well trimmed ( not completely shaved) vaginal area, I think you will find that more guys are also trimming around their genitals.

It depends on how much hair you have on your thighs. I have dated girls with hardly any; they didn't shave and I couldn't keep my hands off them. I have also dated girls who do have hairy thighs, but who didn't shave, and I simply didn't touch them. Not to make a point or anything, I just had no desire to.
It's also a myth that shaving leads to thicker, faster hair growth. It feels like that when it first grows back because after being shaved, the hairs no longer taper and instead have an angular blocky end to them. Plus they're all shorter so feel more stubly when they first re-emerge.
So it depends. If you don't need to, don't. If you do "need to", then either do, or don't and ideally date someone who doesn't mind it. A warning though, there are not many who don't mind so if they say they they don't, there's a reasonable chance they actually do and are trying to be nice.
One final point. From a man's point of view, it's a wonderful thing when your girlfriend makes herself more sexy for you. Wonderful for both of you when the feedback loop leads to him trying harder, working out, buying flowers (or whatever you're into), better sex, more romance, everything. Of course it takes two to tango on that one, but staying on top of your wadmin is a way to charge the romance which is completely within your control. Just like I like to keep my face clean shaven and weight above 180 lbs for my girl, and even occasionally wear cologne (I feel ridiculous, but it drives her crazy). The gift is in the giving!I only shave up to my knee and I will not shave above it, because it's hardly even noticeable and the hair will just grow back thicker and longer.
If a guy expects me to shave all the way, I would think he's weird, seeing as it's not even noticeable.I was also taught not to shave above the knees, my hair above the knees is barely there and you can't see or feel it. My boyfriend was surprised when I told him I don't shave above the knee. It was like that below my knee but everyone start shaving and so did I. Have regretted it ever since! light blond hair turned dark and thick :/
I was told not to shave past the knee and never have. You can't even see it it is very blond and fine. No one has ever seemed to notice or care. Personally I wouldn't do it but I guess everyone has their own prefrence.
do what you want-it's usually finer than the hair below the knee, and it's always been ''if you're going to have sex, shave above the knee''-but those rules are outdated,i don't know any girls who only shave up to their knees.
Yes, we do not like it. That was something girls did in hs when they were basically being lazy. Once I got to college I never saw that again and haven't since. If I met a girl who did that now lazy is the only word that comes to mind...
I always shave above my knee and that's because I wear shorts that the majority of my thigh is exposed.
You must wear longer shorts?Yes shave. It's what's happening now. Guys shave also. Everywhere.
Don't shave! WAX!
Stubbles are a serious turn off!I prefer women to be hairless from the neck down. To me body hair is very masculine and is a huge turn off.
Always how else do you shave all that pub hair. I shave everything hair is gross.
if someone's going to be touching or looking there, then yes I will.
I shave up to my knees, and think that is perfectly fine.
