What does it means if a guy asks about clothing advice?

So I was talking to a guy on Skype, and we are pretty close but we've been like on and off in like a year now. And we flirt and tease each other. But he asked me which tshirt is the best and at the moment I didn't think about it. But when his friend was with us one time, I asked if he bought the shirt and the friend was like surprised that he'd asked me for advice about clothes. Does it mean something? I didn't get why he was so surprised...

i don't think it means anything..they just wanted a girls opinion. a lot of guys ask me for advice and I'm pretty sure they don't all like me. the guy was probably surprised cause that other guy usually doesn't care how other people look at him? :/

well I don't exactly care what other think either. but its like I like this dress and I want it. but I don't have that kind of money to buy something just because it looks cute. I should ask someone what their opinion is to see if its worth spending my money on it. that person would tell me yes or no and the reason behind it, and id make a decision with that. its possible he was like? wouldn't it be easier to ask why he was surprised?

ill be kinda awkward to misinterpret him asking for fashion advice as something more too :/ sometimes asking that person directly is the best thing there is :/ you can simply ask this guy why he asked you instead. there's a chance he asked another person too...youll never know

That, or he values your opinion about clothing.

It doesn't mean anything else.
