Do girls realize that pretending to be too busy for a guy makes it look like she's not interested in him?

I have constantly heard that girls are "afraid of being clingy" yet, many girls I have talked to, I have stopped talking to because they wouldn't communicate enough with me.

Now normally I would think not communicating enough means they aren't interested enough but then suddenly like a week or so later they would text me to try to talk and I wouldn't be interested. This has happened on multiple occasions. Sometimes I would even call them out on it like I told one she kept disappearing a lot. So it was like they were, but were faking being busy, but then wanting to talk to me. Overtime I would talk enough with some girls like my last girlfriend and she would say she is afraid of seeming clingy. Plus I have seen questions on here from girls saying they are afraid of that too. Then some deliberately don't reply to a text immediately to seem busy and not clingy.

Why can't people just talk to each other? Where does this whole "clingy" nonsense come from? Are girls called clingy a lot? Personally when girls do this stuff I just assume they aren't interested and move on. I like talking without all the games.

I am not sure on where the "clinginess" came from, facts wise, but my opinion on it is that women are known to be "emotionally attached" beings. Males tend to always think a women are "crazy" "emotional" "clingy" and I think because women kinda have that reputation, Women immediately put up their guard and naturally try to go against the accusations, by doing antics like this, not calling a guy and appearing busy. It also could be too that women don't want to attach themselves because they don't want to get hurt by the man, so again they put their guard up. There are many reasons why women do this. I actually do this myself, haha! I am always afraid to text or call a guy first cause I'm afraid to appear clingy or needy, so I always back off, but if time has passed where the guy is literally not calling or texting me like more than a week later then I will suck up my pride and call or text him to see how things are and stuff. Haha! It's so funny cause I act this way too! A lot of guys think I have this "stuck up" attitude like "You better call me, I won't call you!" When I am just shy and I just don't want to give the wrong impression.

So I would rather have a guy contact me cause it's easier for me, cause then the pressure is off me, lol! However, I don't think the guy appears needy or anything when he contacts me a lot, so a lot of women have to take a step back and see that the guy is probably thinking the same thing when you text or call him. I do agree though, It's stupid, but I just think a lot of insecurity and society is what makes us women do these kind of things. Men do it too, though! I have a lot of guy friends that said to me "I didn't contact you for the longest time cause I didn't want to appear weird or needy" But I just think it's more of a rarity in guys, lol! Here's how they explain it to girls when this happens (blowing you off and texting later):

She's just not that into you.

A girl who blows off your texts for days and the texts you is likely waiting until she gets bored or needs validation to make herself feel good. Or else, if you text her repetitively and she doesn't respond, she feels guilty now and then so she responds to one of them to make you feel better. The latter is true ESPECIALLY if you tell her you just want to be friends.

Now, if it's only a few hours ... she could legitimately be busy or playing hard to get and interested.

ok here's what I'm going through: I start conversation with my boy, whatever I bring up or ask, he makes me seem like I'm intruding even though I would never let the conversation go somewhere where I would be intruding. I answer whatever he asks but he withholds answer to a normal conversation or lie about something that means nothing to me. So I think I'm just gonna stop talking because I don't know what to talk about, and he's been criticizing what I say, and in most cases I would be saving the situation by bringing in new topics to talk about.so what do you make of that?

They love that game huh... Let see if he really wants me... If you chase they knock you down and call you clingy. If you don't then you don't care about them so they chase you because their ego is bruised and they need to know they can get you anytime they want. If you don't care anymore, they stalk you like a complete psycho. If you take them back they take you for granted. Then you dump them. Then they tell everyone you just used them for sex. Isn't it great...

I agree a lot with you. A girl that liked me actually did this to me all the time. Its like as if theyre testing you to see if you'll cave in and chase them, not so much to not seem clingy to you.
