What does it mean when a guy says "Oh" through a text message?

I know it could mean a lot of different things, but I noticed he has been doing this recently. Like this one time I made a joke about a movie he was watching and he just replied with "Oh" and this other time I got angry with him and he was conversating with me but then I said "Well I am not like other girls" and he replied like 5 hours later with just "Oh" like what does that usually mean? Like I said I know it's hard to tell cause "Oh" could mean a lot of things, but what does it usually mean when guys do it? Is it cause they are interested? Puzzled? Disinterested?

I have had this happen to me.. I said it when a girl I liked offended me

eg. she made fun of the fact that I liked artwork, and said that real guys don't fancy art.

I was pissed, because it's my hobby and if she hates it or can make fun of me for it. Then she doesn't respect me, as art is part of my life.

If I were you I'd have said sorry I was joking or something to easy the pressure or even apologize.

Then again.. these days I don't care if a girl offends me.. I'm man enough to laugh at it and walk away or stand up for myself and tell her she has bad taste. Move on to another girl that will appreciate me for me or for the things I like...
