I really think most men in the US aren't deliberately rude or disrespectful. They just haven't been taught how to behave and think that all there is to it is spending money on us and we will be happy.

And there are some mostly very young girls that work that way. They really ARE happy with being treated as objects to be purchased.

But most of us are NOT happy with that. Especially us Asian women who come from cultures where women have deep respect from men in nearly every situation outside of prostitution..and even then there is a certain code....

When I was managing a coffee shop, a branch of a major and well-known chain, I was friendly with a regular customer and even gave him coupons for free drinks. He asked me out but I never flirted with him or anything like that.

He flirted with all my staff who at that time were mostly Ethiopian girls, very friendly and cute but mostly Muslim and not used to guys getting at all aggressive, and too innocent to know that they had to discourage them.

One day he pinched Sunait, one of the older Ethiopian women actually, but she was shocked and came running to me in tears..not because of pain but because she was SO embarrassed.

I came out and talked to Rez (his real name...not changing names to protect the guilty..I think he's a member of GAG..). He said he realized he should apologize but for Sunait and me it wasn't enough.
I told him to think about it and come back with suggestions on what he needed to do.

I made my list as well and discussed with Sunait. We decided that I would give him a spanking with her watching..but I didn't tell him that!!

When he came in, he said he would offer a written apology. I told him to discuss it with Sunait and while he did that I went out in back and cut a branch off the huckleberry bush in back near the storage shed...

When he had given Sunait the written apology I explained our decision. I told him if he didn't let me spank him I would have to go the corporate route which would mean a police report and a lot of trouble for him. Of course he was larger than Sunait and I put together and I could never have forced him to let me spank him.

Actually, although he was shocked at first, he said he deserved it for his childish behavior.

I think a lot of men are aware of this aspect of their usual persona...

I'll spare you the details, but I didn't spare the rod..or more precisely, the switch, that I had prepared. Sunait giggled the whole time. I told him I would stop when he thought he had learned a lesson, but it was Sunait who told me she thought he had 'the sufficient.''' Every time I stopped and asked him if he had learned a lesson he said that he deserved everything he was getting and that he was very ashamed of taking advantage of a woman from Ethiopia...

After that he was always totally respectful in the shop and a number of times told me that he was indebted to me for teaching him this lesson...he treated women in general with more respect.

Maybe it's because I'm Vietnamese that I would do something like this, but I think a lot of US men would benefit..!!!!!
