Today's society teaches women that you should be a certain size, height, hair color and everything else in between. This has caused a lot of young girls and women to doubt their own unique beauty. We have shrunk this and enlarged that because we think that it's going to cause a man to be attracted to us more when the exact opposite is true. In high school I was so insecure about my looks but once I graduated and matured I really grew into myself and I receive compliments all the time from men. We as females need to learn to be happy with who we are and not try to change to please a guy.
I've learned from having boyfriends and male friends that men aren't half as shallow as we think they are. Sure they appreciate and enjoy a good looking woman but for the most part they don't solely base their whole opinion on one thing. I've had some of my friends dump some very pretty girls because she was rude or stupid. I have learned that if you portray a beautiful personality that can snag a guy just as fast. Not to say that you can go around with rotten teeth and horrible hygiene but for all us pretty, average girls, being yourself is enough.
Don't get me wrong, I love makeup and clothes. And I agree that if losing weight is good for your health then by all means do it, but don't go around trying to totally alter yourself because you think that's going to make a man like you. I have learned that 9 times out of 10 it doesn't work. But then again, this is just one girls opinion.
