Ladies learn to do a few things for yourself!

Nalyaka

As a woman, it is way easier to ask/allow him to do everything. I know...I know it’s so easy to let him change the light bulb, do taxes etc. but even if you do it it’s equally important to learn and know HOW it’s done for yourself.

I know of a woman who was married for 13 years and her husband did everything for them. I mean he bought the house they lived in, paid school fees for their kids, paid the taxes and other related payments, even paid her gym membership, vacations basically he did the invisible man's job to ensure his wife lived a "stress-free-life". She was the rich man's wife and she played her role beautifully aka swipe the card.

A year ago when he passed away, she soon realized the hard way that despite her education and exposure she has no idea how get anything without him and had to learn everything under intense pressure. It was a rude-yet much needed awakening.
Ladies, i know it’s so much fun when he does everything and probably a part of him loves to keep you free of such worries and a most part of you loves that he got this but please learn how the do the important things for yourself. If he is self-employed then you must know exactly what he does for a living because that is probably the primary contributor to your lifestyle. If you’re a stay at home mom try and take an interest in what is going on at the “Bacon- Factory” I know it may seem boring but get acquainted with a few but important aspects. Try and know how much property you have as a family and if possible know where they are located and the location of the legal paper work.

No matter what insist on a Will.
Facts:
1. Women have longer life expectancy than men.
2. Older women, those who are divorced have dramatically lower incomes and higher poverty rates than widows and most other Social Security beneficiaries.
3. 20 % of divorced women aged 65 or older live in poverty, compared with 18 percent of never-married women and 15 percent of widowed women

Lesson: Anticipation of something as drastic as a death or divorce to happen is counterproductive however; knowing life’s unpredictability and making prior preparation makes all the difference.
