14 classic love songs, for February 14th

There are so many loves songs out there, both new and old but I decided to put some of the classic love songs together in a list especially for Valentine's Day. I'm sure that day will be filled with lots of Barry White and Marvin Gaye, which would be appropriate. However, these songs on my list are about love, what you would do for love and what one might feel without your love. So, here's my list. Hope you enjoy it and gives you a better look into love, before this February 14th.

1. Earth Angel by the Penguins (1954)

This song was originally done by someone else but then covered by the Penguins, which became quite a hit. This song is about finding your own angel on earth, it's a beautiful song and one of my favorites.

2. Only You by the Platters (1955)

This is another beautiful song, it talks about the person they love being the only one to make a change in them and loving them the way they do. it's a sweet song.

3. I Only Have Eyes For You by the Flamingos (1959)

This song was also originally sung by someone else, but was covered by the Flamingos and became a hit. I love this song and it's about being so in love that you don't notice anything or anyone else because you only have eyes for that person. Beautiful!

4. Georgia on my Mind by Ray Charles (1960)

This song was another cover, this one by Ray Charles. Granted this song isn't so much about a person, as it is about the state of Georgia but love is love. He's from Georgia and this actually became the state song, so no matter what it's about it's a beautiful song and a favorite of mine.

5. Ain't That a Kick in the Head by Dean Martin (1960)

I know this is very old school and he's part of the Rat Pack (not sure how many people know what that is) but anyway, it's a very great song and talks about love basically being a kick in the head. Very classic and very good.

6. Stand By Me by Ben E. King (1961)

This is a very beautiful song and I imagine one that you've heard at least once in your life. This song talks about standing by the one you love, which in itself is a beautiful thing.

7. My Girl by the Temptations (1964)

This is definitely a classic that is quite popular, this song is basically talking about his girl and how much he loves her. It's sweet.

8. My Guy by Mary Wells (1964)

This song is very good and especially good for men who are skeptical about women, so this song puts that to rest. It's about a girl singing about her guy and how nothing can compare to him, very sweet and true for most of us.

9. Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers (1965)

This is one of the most beautiful songs, definitely one of my favorites. I'm not actually sure what it's about but if I had to guess, it sounds like it's about yearing for and or reuniting with the one you love.

10. I Got you Babe by Sonny & Cher (1965)

I think everybody knows this song by now, it's quite popular. This song sounds like it's about their love and how they don't care what other people think about their love, they love each other no matter what. It's a beautiful and sweet song and true for many couples.

11. When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge (1966)

This song is another beautiful one and good for all the skeptical women, who think all men are the same and only want one thing. This song, puts that to rest. This song talks about what it's like for a man when he's truly in love with a woman. Some of it is sad but most of it is beautiful to know.

12. Strangers in the Night by Frank Sinatra (1966)

This song may not be as well known, but it's a very good song. It talks about two strangers meeting in the night and then falling in love, it's beauitful.

13. You are the Sunshine of my Life by Stevie Wonder (1973)

Most Stevie Wonder songs are popular and this would be one of them. This song talks about the one you love basically being the light of your life which is how it should be.

14. You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine by Lou Rawls (1976)

This song is not so much about love but about what it will be like if you left the one you loved and how you wouldn't find with another, what you had with them. It's a good song.

This concludes my 14 classic love songs, for February the 14th. Hope you liked it.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!
