I am going to share with all of you GAGers why it is important to love yourself. First, I am going to name all the insecurities that may be stopping you from F.L.Y.ing.

There are many insecurities among every one of us that stop us from loving ourselves. In the section of F.L.Y.ing, I will name 5 of the most common ones.

1. There are so many things wrong with these one sentence, I can't even say everything at once. So, I'll break it apart and explain why this is ridiculous and definitely not true.


("I'm ugly-")stop right there. First off, you should know that no one is ugly. NO ONE. Second, that negative attitude is putting your own ego down. Believe it or not, if you tell yourself something too many times, no matter how untrue and ridiculous it is, you will start to believe it. "(-and no one loves me.") Are you kiding? There are so many people around you that love you. Even if you don't think so, you're family DOES love you. Your siblings, your mom, your dad, your friends; everyone. So stop and think before believing that this statement is indeed true.

I'm not good enough for anyone."


This is a common statement that a lot of us either hear from our peers or think to ourselves. ("I'm not good enough-") refers to the fact that you, as a person are worthless. Absolutely false. You are your own wonderful, beautiful unique creation and to sit there and tell yourself that you are not good enough is unbelievable. ("-for anyone.")You don't honestly think that you are so below average and worthless that nobody wants you, do you? Maybe you do, but hopefully that will change after we go over the basics of F.L.Y.ing.

No, you don't. You think you hate certain things about yourself. Perhaps it is your weight, your physical appearance, your personality, your lifestyle, etc. But you do not hate yourself. This sentence is the most common among people who have not learned how to F.L.Y. yet. You want to feel special, and to feel loved, and to feel beautiful. That's why you're reading this Mytake, right?

Why can't I be like her/him?"




The same self-negativity is in this statement as the last ones. ("Why can't I be like her/him?") Is refering to the fact that you yourself think that you are not good enough. You don't really want to be that person. You want to be a better version of yourself, and not the version you think you hate. Comparing yourself to your peers is the worst blow to your ego ever. So before you go along and think this, stop and ask yourself; do I really mean that? before jumping to conclusions.

Another common negative thought, ("I hate my life.") Is actually refering to hating everything you have ever been through, hating your family members, friends, your home, yourself, and most importantly your existance. This implies that there is nothing in the world that has ever made you happy. For some people in bad situations, it may feel like all of this is true, but again you've got to ask yourself that question; do i really mean that? If you are not stopping to think about what you are feeling and what is happening at that moment, you are letting your immaturity get the best of you. What seperates humans from every other animal on Earth is that we can think about things before we do them. That's why we're human. Remember this next time you decide to make yourself believe in negative self-hatred thoughts directed towards you.

In this section, we will learn how to put negativity past us so that we can move on to the next level; positivity. There are many things you can do to improve your day no matter what-and I am very willing to show them to you.

I know this sounds really simple, but it is! Something about smiling completely changes your attitude and makes you think and feel more positively! Just like you can trick yourself into believing something, you can trick yourself into feeling something, too! Another thing about smiling is, it's contagious. By helping yourself and smiling you can help other people smile too!

Encourage Yourself


Make yourself feel happy. Do something you like. Smile and laugh a lot. I like to tell myself "I'm going to have a great day." because again, tricking yourself into believing something is simple. You keep telling yourself the same thing and then your mind really believes it. You really will have a great day with that smile on your face and happy feeling inside.

Look in the mirror.


So easy, right? But don't look into the mirror and see everything that is bad about you. Look in the mirror and instead, see everything that is good about you. You will slowly start to realize that you are beautiful, and your mind will undo itself from periods of negativity. And remember, only genuine smiles make you feel happy. A fake smile won't get you anywhere. You have to convince yourself that you are really happy.

If you still need more convincing, look for it. Look at the way your friends look at you. Look at the way your mom or dad greet you. Do you see the love in your eyes? If so, you are truly ready to F.L.Y.

What do you love about you? Is it your laugh? Your skills? Your appearance? Something about your daily life that makes you glad to be you. If you are unsure, pay attention to yourself, not just in the mirror and if you still need inspiration, look out for what other people admire in you. Then, make a list and you'll be surprised how long it is. You really do love you.

Daily Reminders


Daily reminders help our mind know what to believe, and can be very useful for keeping a positive attitude. Eventually, our bodies will instantly react to feelings of happiness without us telling it to. But, for now we have to build up that instinct.


Daily reminders can simply be remembering to smile, positive thinking, etc. Here is a great quote to go by:


Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.


If you can correct every one of these things to something positive, then there is no way out of feeling happy all day! And when you think, talk, act, feel and look happy, you make other people want to be around you, too!

Being around other people who are in a good mood can definitely improve your chances of enlightening yours!


-don't compare yourself to your peers


stop feeling like your not good enough! Don't compare yourself to them, because you are completely different from everyone! You are beautiful and unique, and your own creation!


-don't feel self-conscious of your smile


Feeling self-conscious of your smile will only make it a fake one. You have to truly convince yourself that you are happy first in order to be happy!


-compliments are everything


give lots of compliments! If you like what someone's wearing or how they did their hair that day, tell them! It will surely bring a smile to their face and make them feel better about themselves! And even better, you will most likely receive a compliment in return, making you feel better about yourself too! So its a win-win.


-have fun


smile, laugh, talk with your friends and enjoy yourself! Say what you want to say without comparing yourself to others! What's holding you back from having fun?
