1. Girls want to make sure that they find the right type of guy, and I'm sure it's nearly impossible to find the perfect guy, but the kind of guy who isn't a fuck-boy or someone who isn't looking for a free-ride (someone to satisfy them financially and/or in terms of popularity). The kind of guy who wants the same kind of relationship that you're looking for.

2. A guy who makes you feel loved. This might be hard to describe but instead of just saying certain words to make you feel happy, to actually follow it up with action. Not the kind of guy who doesn't communicate with you for weeks but the kind of guy who at least tries to give the attention that you deserve even if he's very busy with his own life.

3. Someone who knows about boundaries. There are boundaries that guys shouldn't cross, I'm sure we all love attention guys and girls included but when people are in a relationship, they should always be considerate of the person they're with; instead of trying to boost their own self-esteem while hurting the other person.

4. A guy who is honest and straightforward. If he doesn't like something that you're doing in the relationship or if you're making a big mistake, he should vocalize his thoughts on it even if it's harsh. He shouldn't be sugar coating things and lying which would make him resent the relationship, without the girl knowing. The girl should make an effort to change, but the guy should also make an effort to compromise.

1. Satisfy you financially? Umm no. And popularity? Is this high school? Wtf. Look, I make good money, and I think it's fine if a girl wants to find a guy with income similar to hers, that's fair. But, a girl seeking a guy that has income way above hers is a gold digger, and you will not find a bigger turn off for most guys.

2. Not what all girls want. What you want. Although I understand why you want it. There are plenty of girls who like their independence and don't want to talk to their boyfriend every day.

honestly, to me it seems like you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. if you read the title of the mytake it's my opinion on what a GIRL should look for in a guy before committing in a LONG-relationship

true it's not what all girls want and not all girls are the same, i'm generalizing it in a way that the girl should find the type of guy she wants.

makes you feel loved in a relationship is 100% important. if the girl is fine being an independent person, that's fine but to have a fulfilling relationship the emotional aspects should also be covered in the way that satisfies her needs.

in a LONG-TERM COMMITED relationship, I don't know about you but most people aren't okay with their girlfriends having sex with other guys. everyone has to set restrictions somewhere. you're okay with your partner having sex with other guys, then that's not a committed relationship, that's a friends with benefits.

to the point of the relationship ending, you better call them out. yes because i've only been in it for long term

I'm not okay with my girlfriend having sex with other guys. I never said sex, I said flirting. Flirting is not sex. I flirt with 60 year old women for fuck sake; it's part of life. you can't really know how a person is in a relationship util you're in it. a commitment is only a commitmenrt as long as it is what you need. if it isn't working break up. i dont see why everything has to be perfect before trying. just give it a shot. if it doesn't work break up. you wouldn't know any of this stuff-how they are- if you're not with them. none of this can be figured out by 'thinking' you gotta be together.

But here's the problem, while you practise your hypergamy 80% of the guys you'd actually love no longer graduate university nor have a high paid job. Congratulations - your pool of available men now just shrunk to the 20%, 15 of which are assholes. Good luck "Competing" for the 5 % or less who aren't. Women created a false equality that now has them financially better off at men's expense but completely alone and there's no undoing that.

Here's the problem "makes you feel loved" is how you feel - and no one but you controls that. A man can love you, he can't "Make you feel loved"... that's just ridiculous and frankly incredibly juvenile.

"Someone who knows about boundaries..." yes they are unfortunately the way you frame this it's basically the opposite of "make me feel loved" - which is to say only when it suits you and never when it doesn't... again Juvenile and entirely inconsiderate of HIS feelings... especially if your're "Busy with your own life"...

We have to consider our position within the law now because women have collectively spent 50 years creating an ingrained Bias that takes all our rights and choices away. Nothing you say is going to change that any time soon. Which is why I don't recommend marriage at all - without it at least you can have some form of equality and thereby trust and love. With it you surrender your agency and rights as a man and the relationship is no longer about trust but about satisfying her every whim which is a relationship with a child not a woman.
