3 Hilarious Times My Guy And I Purposely Annoyed Each Other

So my guy and I have been together for a little over a year. And in that time, we’ve had our ups and downs, just like most couples, but we’ve also had some hilarious moments, too, that we both laugh at.

Sometimes, I feel like we focus too much on the negatives of relationships on G@G. So I thought I’d share a few funny moments between my guy and myself that both of us still find hilarious to this day.

1. If you fall asleep, I’m painting your toenails

At the time, my guy was working from 4pm-11pm every night at a factory, which meant I only really got to see him on weekends. The problem, however, is that his work schedule meant that he was also very tired whenever we were together because he had a hard time adjusting his sleeping schedule.

In other words, he kept falling asleep whenever we were together, especially when I was talking, which was super annoying. I told him that if fell asleep again, I was going to paint his toenails.

He laughed I think because he didn’t believe I’d do it. At this point, we’d only been together for a couple months. And guess what he did? He fell asleep.

SOOOOOOOOOOO I found my fire engine red nail polish and painted his toenails while he was asleep. He woke up and saw what I did. His response was gold:

“That’s the prettiest my feet ever looked. Feel like a real woman now,” and then he fell back asleep.

Of course, I took it off in the morning. It’s turned into an inside joke now whenever he gets on my nerves.

“Don’t make me paint your toenails again.”

“Just make sure you use a different color next time. Preferably one that’ll make my eyes pop.”

2. These cookies remind me of our relationship

So for this part, it’s important to point out that he’s white and I’m black/Native American. While it’s not a first for me, an interracial relationship is a first for him. And you'll understand the relevance once your done reading this point.

I wanted a picture of us together so we could post it on Instagram. The problem is that he hates pictures of himself. However, it’s what I wanted for Sweetest Day (if you don’t know what that is, don’t worry, it’s like a Valentine’s Day in the Midwest during October.)

After pestering him for a few days, he finally gave in and said he’d post a picture of us together. He asked me if I wanted to see it, and, naturally, I said, “Of course!”

This fool, and I kid you not, sends me a picture of black and white cookies with the caption, “Me and my girl! Isn’t she sweet?”

Later, when I go to his house, he gives me the empty box with a bow on it and says, “Happy Sweetest Day!”

Yeah, I wanted to punch him. Still funny, though.

3. Don’t irritate me or I’m making you brownies

I know, I know…how could brownies be something to be feared?

Well, if you’re a gym rat and health nut, you would know why. My guy works out every day and never eats sugar because it turns to fat.

However…if you know me, you know I’m baker and cake decorator on the side of being a teacher, you know that this does not fly with me. But since he is so adamant not to eat sugar, I kind of sort of not really let him slide a bit on my delicious desserts, no pun intended.

But when he annoys me…when he does something that just gets directly under my skin…or when I just feel like being annoying…I make him brownies.

See, my guy has no self control, which is why he never buys food he thinks are unhealthy. But you put a pizza in front of him, he’ll eat the entire thing without thinking about it. Brownies are no different.

He annoyed me once because I called him three times and he didn’t answer me until the next day. His excuse was because he didn’t feel like answering the phone. When I asked him why didn’t tell me that, he said, “Because then I’d have to answer the phone, now wouldn’t I?”

Oh really? Okay, so you want to be a smart ass? Mmmkay, I see, no, that’s fine, I get it…

I showed up the next day with a pan of peanut butter brownies. 9 of them. And they were gone in 10 minutes. And we were the only two in the house. I didn’t eat any.

He was bloated the next day, tired, and told me I’m never allowed to bake around him again because my treats are toxic. Now he knows what’s up! Actually, last night, we had a phone conversation that went like this:

“You need to make sure the bed is made up before I get there. I hate sleeping in your bed when it’s messed up.”

“No, I don’t feel like it, it’s fine how it is.”

“But there’s never any blankets on it when I get there, and I always end up being the one to make up the bed.”

“So? What's wrong with that?”

“Do you want me to bring you brownies again?”

“You like the red covers or the blue ones?”

Yes, we both get a good laugh out of this. Hopefully you did, too. While it’s so easy to remember the bad moments of a relationship, you should also remember the funny ones. Those are the memories that matter most, especially when both of you can laugh at it like my guy and me.
