What can I do for the other half of my life.

Today is my 40th Birthday.

For 40 Years I seen things. In person and on the news. From the Iran Hostages to Iran Contra. From the Berlin Wall coming down, to the wall going up in Texas/Mexico Border.

From World Trade Center Towers being completed, to being taken down in a terrorist attack, to a Freedom Tower rising from the ashes to make my city whole again.

From my personal setbacks from getting a disqualification from the United States Air Force, to becoming a paralegal and getting my Bachelors.

Also during the 40 years, volunteering with the City, State, and Local. Including volunteer military. I have done most of my share in my life.

. Every year is a learning lesson, you take stock and reflect on what have you learned, what have you lost, what have you gained.

I was engaged in 2002, 2 months after my father died, in 2008, I realized it was a mistake on my part.

So now, on my 40th birthday, I reflect on everything..

at 7.. You learn about friendship

at 13. You carry your friendship with you through your schooling

at 16.. You realize who your friends are and if they stand by you, if they fall into cliques....

at 18.. You loose more of your inner circle as you go to college. But you gain some.

at 21.. You keep your friendship and enter adulthood.

at 25.. You have your friends, and soon to be family to attend your wedding

at 30.. You have a good job, good family and good friends. You also have children

at 40..You begin to wonder. Your friends are too busy for you, your relationship went south, you never had kids, and your job.. well its your job...

So you reach 40. You still have a hunger for education. Law School.. Yes.. Masters.. Maybe..Zero debt but you got to take care of an aged parent. Again, you reached the peak of your age. You didn't accomplish all you wanted. Where do you go from here?

You start from the day forth on building a new life. new plans, new ideas. and hoping you can get them done in more of a timely fashion.
