Hey all you GaGers! Today, I decided to touch base on the topic of "Relationships" because lately I have noticed a big misconception. Teenagers these days apprehend that if they are "dating" that means they are automatically in a relationship. In today's society the "dating" is left out and they jump right into a new relationship which is where problems begin to rise. Here's the scoop on how relationships should go these days. ( If it hasn't been forgotten already. )
Dating: Dating is a very beginning state of making a connection with someone. That does not mean a "singular" someone. You may absolutely date others in this process, go out and get to know each individual and from there decide who not or who you'd like to continue dating.
Boyfriend/Girlfriend : This happens when you've already dated quite a bit that now you know who you'd like to be "more" with. If the dating individuals agree to making a relationship this is where it blossoms. This is the state in which you get to know your partner on a deeper level, get to understand how the other lives their daily lives. This is where it becomes tricky. You most certainly, must have, a true understanding and acceptance if you'd like the relationship to last and unfortunately these are the parts that make or break a relationship.
Engagement : This too is an optional yes or no state. At this point in a relationship, you two pretty much have the handle on things, you're able to support yourselves, agree and have polite disagreements here and there, and yet you both are able to manage your own lives at an appropriate rate. Good signs, all that leads into the big "E", Engagement.
Finally,
Marriage: You two have made it through difficult times, great times, and arguments. You are able to trust, accept and have a true understanding with one another. The absolute foundation a marriage is based upon. It's almost the big day, and you are ready, maybe a bit cold footed, nervous excited, yet you made it through and now have the privilege to marry the one person who you're in love with, and probably finishing each others sentences.
This is what relationships should mean today. Mind you these laws of relationships don't fit under everyone's exact category, it's different everywhere and people these days are losing sight on how to build a lasting relationship.
