Instead of longing for a relationship, you should:

- Satisfy your Needs

- Strive for your Wants

- Pursue your Dreams

- Engage in your Hobbies

- Partake in Productive Activities

You don't need a relationship. You need to get a life with a web of relationships.

I think people here are missing the OP's point.

What she's saying is: you don't have to focus and stress about finding a relationship. Instead, focus on living an interesting life and go out and do things with other people. If you do that, you won't HAVE to worry about finding a relationship because that will happen by itself - because you are out in the world, meeting lots of people, and being interesting enough yourself that these people will be drawn to you.

The alternative is what too many people here do: sit at home on the computer being sad that they don't have anyone to be with - yet they do very little to live an interesting life or to go out where other people are and meet them in person doing something they mutually enjoy anyway.

If you want a relationship pick at least 2 hobbies or interests that have a social element (interests that single people around your age group are likely to share) and attend their events and meetings. You'll have fun and learn new things about your interests, AND you'll start (at least) 2 new circles of friends... which should lead to you doing things with those people outside the mutual interest, where you'll meet THEIR friends and grow your circle. It won't take long before you meet someone who you have mutual attraction with...

What if none of ones hobbies or interrests are social activities? Because there are lots of people like that. There are hobbies with no reallife associations, few people doing them or are just not possible to pursue in a group, or simply not outside. How is one supposed to go about that? Finding new hobbies and compromising interest for meeting new people? Just go out and do uncomfortable things in spite? Because that's not how you meet a lot of likeminded people.
And that doesn't even account for people who don't like most of the population.

I find relationships to be fake a phony and all about bragging on social media. I've tried relationships but got nothing but used and treated like shit so it's safe to say I'm done with it all. Good take. I love The Sims!!!

Nah I disagree. I understand the notion of this whole wishy washy "you don't need anybody but yourself" mentality but a lot of the times it's just untrue because they make it seem like being in a relationship is always misery and being alone is so great and perfect. You don't need to get married but relationships are something that people need to experience because they're a part of life and a learning process too. I'm currently not in a relationship but at one point I know I will be in one again.

@W31rd0 Oh and one other thing, relationships, sex, etc. and pretty much everything and anything else only matters, or has as much "importance", "value", "worth" or "meaning" for as long as we want it, desire it, crave it, believe in it, etc. Or perhaps need it, or feel or think that we need it.

Compared to the entire big picture of the entire universe, all space, time, stars, the galaxies, it's completely all laughable that people make so big of a deal out of this or out of that and obsess over this or obsess over that.

its good because you are recharging your batteries for the next relationship to come along... the only thing to drive away loneliness is having kids... it helps a lot... I have 4 and they will never make you lonely... although you need a sexual relationship as well...
