Why do girls say "Ok" in the middle of an argument?

me and my girl have been dating for 7 months. everytime we argue it becomes a who has the last word and she just says "ok." what does it mean? Help.

There are actually three things it can mean. If it is said angrily with aggression it is to be assertive and try to dominate the argument. Said annoyingly when she has that whatever attitude is to get you to shut up. And said depressingly is for a loss of words or not being able to price the words together

It's a passive aggressive way of saying: "This may have ended, but I don't agree with you and I think you're an idiot."

If she interrupts him with "ok", i'd say it's more of "you know what, i am bored of arguing, keep talking alone, i got my opinion and i won't change it".

Yes, I say "ok." at the end of statements where I am like "yeah I don't care at this point".

@cr4yv3n If you are interrupted while making your argument with an ok that is abrupt and expressed with annoyance, it means: "Shut up, we're done talking. You're an idiot."
If it's an exhausted ok, pleading in a way, it means: "Shut up, I heard this already. Let's do something else, I don't care anymore."

Whether it's aggressive, passive aggressive, or consoling, is conveyed through her attitude.

When I say okay in the middle of an argument, its kinda like im saying "you win" or i just dont want to fight anymore, without saying to much to start another argument since we're both kinda fuming at the moment. Im also most likely going to apologize soon after too, for making you upset with me. er something like that.

it can mean many things. i sometimes say okay, when...
im fed up with hearing his crap and want him to stop.
or...
when i see he's made a point and decide i am wrong
or...
just want to make him stop and listen.

I would say ok just to end the argument. That's just a less rude way to say "whatever I'm done with this conversation
