Why do these girls stare at me like this? It's really confusing me!?

So I'm a junior in High School, and I've never had a girlfriend before.

I'm really skinny, but girls have called me attractive in the past, and also pretty eyes. I'm on the shy side, I don't talk to girls a lot, I can be outgoing if I have to be (You know, like faking confidence, or faking being happy.. stuff like that)

I've noticed recently, that I see girls STARING hard at me (Girls who are like pretty cute/hot) and when I go look, I see them snap away pretty fast.

Several girls do this, certainly girls who are more outgoing, and talk to a lot of guys, but stare at me. It really makes me feel weird. Even one of my friends in my advisory stares at me (She's kinda cute), and when I pass by her, she looks down, like kinda sad..

I don't really get if they stare at me because they think I'm attractive, or if they just think I look weird or something. I usually take time to look good in the mornings, and I've been going kinda crazy at the thought of this, because I'm bad with girls usually, so I tend to ignore their stares most of the time.
Why do these girls stare at me like this? It's really confusing me!?
