What should I do about my ex that keeps giving me gifts?

I broke up with my ex because of his lack of effort in our relationship. He wasn't a good boyfriend. I will always care about him and want the best for him. I could never hate him despite all the areas he fell short in the relationship.

Any way I broke up with him and because of it he feels a lot of regret for not putting in effort in that relationship. So he has been buying me gifts.

He bought me a gift card to my favorite Arts and Crafts store because he knows how much I like and enjoy creating art.

Now he's bought me this very expensive set of markers I mentioned I had wanted a long time ago.

It's not like I can't accept the gifts because he insists and says it's his way of apologizing for not doing these things before.

I already have a boyfriend he knows I'm seeing someone else so it's no secret. About my love life.

So what can I do to at the least get him to stop giving me these gifts in the nicest way possible?

Oh long story short, he knows why you split and right now he is trying to compensate / buy your affections back. this is not a "tell him nicely issue" but its not a "cuss him out" issue either. Just calmly tell him that he can't buy your affections and that you have a boyfriend. usually does the trick.

Oh I've been around... lurking really. Lol And I have told him. Numerous times that he can't buy me or use money to get back with me because I'm not shallow. His thing is he doesn't care and says he's doing this because he just wants to and doesn't expect anything back in return.

Like he gave me these free movie tickets to go to the movies with my boyfriend... O_O Who does that? I only took them because he was soooo insistent about it.

Not yet I wanted to handle this situation on my own. He knows that my ex has been contacting me. He knows that. But now I feel like I should tell him about the gift thing since it's starting to get out of hand. How should I tell him?

I think you should start out by notifying Santa here first that even if you appreciate the thoughtfulness, that you know a certain person that won't and you are dating them, not him. Also that you and your bf don't keep any secrets and you may have to tell him if there's a next time, but if the gift giving stops, there's nothing tell. If that doesn't stop it, well, follow through.

Yes, you can insist that you not accept them. Tell him you accept his apology but the gifts and any future attempts to rekindle the relationship MUST end.

He knows i don't want to get back with him though. I've told him once I've broken up with someone that's it. I don't go back.

So I don't know what he's trying to do by buying me all these gifts.

I know exactly what he's trying to do. He's trying to buy his way back into your life. He knows what you've said but is basically trying to find a way around it.

Don't accept them.
Even if he insists, just don't do it.
You have a boyfriend, sounds like feelings are still there and you accepting the gifts isn't helping.
