Before we started dating he was obsessed with Asian girls. He would post pictures of kpop singers all over his Twitter and he even straight up told me "I like Asian girls." when I asked him about it. The other night he told me that he told his dad we were dating and he asked what ethnicity I was and his dad responded by say, "What? What happened? No Asian girl?". For some reason that made me feel worse about not being Asian. I'm Latina and he's Latino but I think he wishes I was Asian... what can I do about this?

That's in pretty poor taste really, I prefer Asian girls to any other but I don't have a weird obsession with them and I won't date only Asian girls.

It sounds like he some warped racialized fetish and that's just weird, beyond weird that's just creepy.

There's nothing you can do. You can't change your ethnicity.
There are tons of guys who like Latinos, if he's not happy with the way you look, move on.
Although he didn't actually say he didn't like the way you look, right?

No but I know he prefers girls that are much shorter and thinner than me with Asian features since that's always the photos he posted on Twitter.

So if you feel like he's making you feel insecure I think you should just break up. Let him go find his Asian girl while you find a guy who makes you feel beautiful. Curves and all. Believe me there are plenty.

Unless you can magically transform into an Asian female, there's nothing you can do. He's daring you. I think that's a step in the right direction since you're not Asian.
