My boyfriend says I cannot get a personal trainer even though I want to?

So I am not by any means overweight. I am maybe 115 -120 pounds but I want to be in shape and toned like the Victorias secret models. Anyway I told my boyfriend I am looking into getting a personal trainer and right away he got mad and said your not getting one. When I asked why not he said because I don't want you too. I told him I could understand why if he had a valid reason and then he kept saying because he doesn't want me too. I kept telling him I want a reason and then he called me a psycho for asking so many times. It got really heated and I thought he was being immature and weird. If he doesn't want me to I won't as long as he has a reason that makes sense. Guys do you know what could be going through his mind?

y guess would be he does t want you to get bulky or is worried the trainer would be a male. But you don't need a trainer because you aren't overweight. Get thee to yoga!

Doing intermediate level yoga classes focusing on tone twice a week will give you more than enough tone. I had to buy new pants because my butt wasn't flat anymore when I first started. The only thing I had t add to it was lifting some arm weights so I could get enough strength to do inverted poses.

I'm thinking that it's either fear of change in you, or potential for jealous either because of the attention a personal trainer (presumably male) and/or other males - believe it or not, some guys can get fearful of this - I run an exercise program on a weekly basis and a girl used to come along every week. She ended up getting married and her husband didn't want her coming to training anymore because he didn't want her 'looking hot'. She's totally frustrated by it because she just want to exercise and keep fit..

1) a complete waste of money. They are fine 1x just to show you how to do the machines. after that, they are just telling you to do the exercises your already doing.
2) he doesn't want you around muscle bound morons at the gym that just want to hit on you. he is jealous.
3) women are supposed to be nice and soft. That is one of the most awesome parts of a woman. A guy doesn't want some muscle hard woman. may as well date a guy.

Yeah I have to agree. I don't like how he immediately told you you're not getting one like it was his decision to make, then calls YOU psycho for asking him to tell you what his deal was. Really bad combo.

My boyfriend knows that my favorite yoga instructor is a hot dude with an engineering degree and is somewhat of a guru in our city. The other instructor I have that is also a guy teaches acroyoga where he balances me on his feet in the air. He sees me leave the house in my low cut yoga clothes and doesn't bat an eye.

He either trusts you or he doesn't. If he says he trusts you but not the dude that is BS. Because if he does trust you then he knows that other guy can look all he wants but you aren't going to let him cross any lines. You aren't his property.

Well, reading this I would say your boyfriend is very controlling... in an over the top way. For me this would be a red flag about me continuing the relationship.

That said, is he saying this because he thinks it'll be a male personal trainer and thus he's worried of possible infidelity (I mean this still goes back to my previous point but it could well be why he refuses to let you do it).

That is a bit weird especially without any reason. We can only speculate without really knowing but I'll take a swing at it.

1. He's afraid you will become better looking them him and find someone else
2. He's afraid your personal trainer will be real hot and will steal you away

I can't think of any other reasons, either way he sounds like he's being irrational, and not explaining why he feels this way doesn't help, maybe he knows he's being irrational.

If he won't say it, it's probably something that will make him look bad.

1) He's jealous that you'll be working with a big buff dude
2) He's jealous that you'll get so nice a body that you will get more attention from guys and maybe leave him
3) He thinks it's a waste of money (Not likely, why wouldn't he just say so?)
4) He likes your body as it is (Not likely, why wouldn't he just say so?)

Because he won't tell you, it's most likely the first 2 options. He doesn't wanna make himself look bad

Quite obviously jealously.. or insecurity.. if you were to loose weight or tone up etc other guys might find you more attractive. A personal trainer is his way of loosing you maybe.. not to the personal trainer himself

I'm guessing two possible reasons:
1) He thinks it's a waste of money (If you're paying, it's most likely reason 2)
2) He thinks it's going to be a buff guy feeling you up so he's jealous / insecure

To be honest, I don't really keep track of the celebrities much. it's really rare to see one with a face AND body I find attractive, considering they need to have both an attractive face AND a body with proportions that I find attractive, which is rough because they all try to look like "models" and end up wearing makeup ruining their face and are typically glamoured for having way longer legs than it's normal, lol.
