I haven't had a hair cut in years. The last one I had was not long after having my son almost 4 years ago. Since I was 12 I have always cut my hair short. I loved it the shorter it got, I wanted to shave it too but my mum wouldn't let me. Now I'm 21 and self employed I don't have to worry about my mum or looking good for school/work. Two things I have wanted to do with my hair since I was a young teenager was get a Mohawk and have wool dreadlocks. So, I convinced my other half to get me some wool to make the locks with... but he doesn't want me to shave any part of my head.
He feels that any woman with a shaved head looks ugly, and even though he has not said it directly, he thinks I will look less attractive. I haven't cut my hair in so long because he "likes my hair long" and we don't really have the money to get haircuts regally. But tbh I hate my long hair. I think it looks lovely, and its so easy to style but its very thick and very long. It gets in my food, it knots like nobody's bushiness, its very very hot, people are always pulling my hair by accident, I struggle to sleep comfortably with it... I'm just fed up with it.
I'd kill for that Mohawk, I've wanted one for so long and I'm only getting older. I don't want to be the 50 year old woman going crazy and shaving her head because she never did it when she was younger. I want to do it, just once before I'm too old.
So how can I convince my other half to let me get a Mohawk because telling him its my hair, I can do what I want with it, isn't working.

Thank you! I desided in the end, because I didn't buy enough wool to cover my whole head, I'm going to french braid the sides of my head like this, and have dreadlocks in the middle :) This was I almost get my mohawk and I'm not shaving my head!
Well in a world without flaws this would be true... But unfortunatly he handles all the money in our relationship. If I want a haircut I will have to ask him first for money.
I'm self employed and a full time mum. My buisness has a very slow income of about £5 a month. This money gets filterd away into the family bank account that pays for food and bills and everything else.
Then I guess if you're incapable of making an impactful steady income then you're out of luck, considering at that point it would be HIS money he would be giving you.
Well its not really his money, its our money. We get child tax benefits and other incomes, and I spend most of my day looking after our kid so I am intitled to some of it. He just manages what we spend the money on. All I have to do is convince him that this is what I want and that I deserve it. It will make me happy!
Well I dont, I plan on having a career that lets me stay at home where no one can see my hair. I'm self employed and a full time mum, I'm pretty much the only one who can appreciate my hair so I might as well make it nice for myself.
